3D Scanning

3D scanners use structured light to uncover the dimensions of existing objects. These scanned measurements can then be used to create CAD models — a process known as ‘reverse CAD’ or ‘reverse engineering’.

3D scanning is useful for recovering lost dimensions, or recreating technical drawings of existing parts. We also use 3D scanning to check that the dimensions of a part are accurate to a technical drawing, or to a CAD model, by laying the scanned model over the drawing/CAD model.

We use the EinScan-Pro+ to scan 3D parts of any size. We can scan your objects to:

Provide technical drawings for existing parts.

Provide CAD files for existing parts.

Create duplicates of existing parts by sending scanned models straight to our 3D printers.

Recover dimensions.

Check dimensions.
